ENDURING UNDERSTANDINGS

 

The student will understand that:

1.

There are twenty one different Spanish speaking countries each with its own traditions.

2.

Each country has unique cultural components.

3.

Spanish speaking countries have different holiday celebrations.

4.

Some Spanish speaking countries are multi-lingual.

5.

Traditions may include specific foods, dances, songs, games, art forms, activities, folktales, poems and clothing.

6.

The indigenous peoples of Latin America have unique histories and traditions, which influenced present day cultures.

7.

The history of Latin America was greatly influenced by Spain and the age of exploration.
