A letter to our Sixth and Seventh grade parents, May 2017

Dear sixth and seventh grade families,

The end of the year is here, and with it many choices for next year. You have likely seen the large list of electives your child can choose for next year and as music teachers we would implore you to take the elective choice seriously. We hope that you continue to recognize the benefits of musical and intellectual growth fostered in an ensemble class that continues through all three trimesters of the school year.

Performing music in school has been proven to benefit kids with success in society, success in school, success in developing intelligence, and success in life.  Students involved in music programs stay engaged in school, have a sense of achievement, learn to improve their work, have better SAT scores, are prepared for the creative economy of the 21st century, learn teamwork, and have better self-confidence. And our public school provides a well-crafted music ensemble program for you within the school day.

We look forward to continuing our work in developing your child’s music education and can’t wait to get started with next year's ensembles. We hope your young musician is part of it. Please feel free contact us with any questions.
