Welcome, parents and guardians, to Oswegatchie Elementary School
Parents and guardians are vital partners in the education of our children. Parent involvement is demonstrated in numerous ways throughout the school year, and is a key factor in our fund-raising efforts. Periodically over the course of the year, there are several initiatives which ultimately support field trips, assemblies, and enrichment activities for our students, as well as a host of social events which promote family involvement at our school.
Parents and guardians are also welcome and encouraged to volunteer in a classroom, providing support to a small group of students, or sharing their expertise about a particular subject related to the grade-level curriculum. In addition, parents and guardians are welcome to help shelve books in the media center, or make photo-copies or laminate materials for teachers and other staff members.
Our parent/teacher organization, the Oswegatchie School Organization, encourages participation at the monthly meetings, where ideas are generated for new events, initiatives or activities that can benefit our children and our larger school community.
