I am proud to serve the students and staff of Waterford Public Schools!

We have some exciting things going on in Waterford this year.  The mathematics curriculum committee met back in June to begin writing the new K-12 math curriculum.  This process has continued throughout the school year and I am confident the team will bring us a thorough, comprehensive K-12 document.  The Connecticut State Department of Education has just rolled out the Mathematics Common Core State Standards and our curriculum committee has been busy culling through these documents to ensure Waterford is adhering to the highest standards for our students.

Our curriculum leaders and department heads are working collaboratively together across grade levels and buildings.  Our focus for this school year is improving literacy for our students and our staff has spent a lot of time working to achieve this goal.

You will notice a Professional Development link on the left menu.  While this page will not include everything teachers are doing, it will highlight some of the big activities.  A lot of time is spent planning meaningful activities so please take a look at what our teachers are participating in and learning and growing from.
