This is basic care, but still good information.
Food/water: You should give your guinea pig hay and pellets. Give them a lot of hay to last them the whole day or feed them multiple times a day. You should get guinea pig pellets, not rabbit because rabbit’s don’t need vitamin C. Which leads me to talking to vegetables and fruits. Give them pretty much anything. Many websites offer lists of eatable foods.
Cages/Toys: Cages should be big enough that a guinea pig will be comfortable inside. That means it should be pretty big. Don’t put a guinea pig in an aquarium for fish because they need air. You should give guinea pigs toys to chew and play with. You should also give them huts or logs to hide inside of. The edible kinds are the best because they can eat them if they are hungry.
Bedding: I started out with Carefresh bedding, but then I switched to pine because it smelled better. You can get it from pet stores or from a farm.
Free Time: Your guinea pig should have free time every day. This means you should take your guinea pig/s out in a room or outside in the nice weather. I take mine in the garage about 5 out of 7 days for 15 to 20 minutes each. |

The answer to the quiz should be timothy, unless you have a pregnant or baby piggy. You should have alfalfa for that. But never have no hay. |
