| At Oswegatchie School, we believe that children
are our greatest source of pride, and educating them is
our greatest accomplishment. They certainly are our future,
and working together, staff, families, and the community,
we strive to provide the best educational opportunities
possible. The success of our school is measured not only
by the data on student achievement, but on the happy and
well-adjusted children who are motivated to learn, and
by the level of parent involvement in our school community.

Rising up in the shadow of the current Oswegatchie Elementary School at 470 Boston Post Road in Waterford is the new, state-of-the-art Oswegatchie Elementary School. The current building, which opened in 1965, will be replaced by this new environmentally friendly and energy-saving building. The new building, nearing completion and scheduled to open in August of 2009, will be heated and cooled by a geothermal system. In addition, every two classrooms will share a break-out room, which is a small group work space which will also house the classroom computers. Each classroom will have a Promethean Board, an interactive white board that will open up a world of teaching and learning possibilities for our students. The new building includes a gymnasium, separated from the cafeteria by a stage. Safety will also be enhanced in the new school through a high-tech security system.
Our mission will remain the same in the brand new school – to work together – staff, students and families, in order to provide the best educational opportunities for each child at Oswegatchie School, within an atmosphere of integrity and respect. We are anxiously awaiting the completion of our new building and looking forward to working and learning together in the new Oswegatchie School!
