Director of Finance and Operations Appointed
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph Mancini as the new Director of Finance and Operations for the Waterford Public Schools effective March 1, 2016. A thorough search process was conducted and we are pleased to have Mr. Mancini join the Waterford team. He was introduced at the January 28, 2016 Board of Education meeting.
Mr.Mancini has been serving as the Director of Finance for the Town of Simsbury since 2014 and previously served as the Director of Finance for the City of West Haven. Prior to working in the public sector, Mr. Mancini worked successfully in private sector finance. He served as a Finance Manager for Sikorsky Aircraft and as a Senior Financial Analyst for the Unilever Corporation. Over the last two years in Simsbury, Mr. Mancini implemented several policies that improved the financial position of the town. He conducted audits on town contracts that resulted in significant savings. In West Haven, he implemented new software solutions to automate and streamline operations. In addition, he reorganized the budget process in a more efficient manner.
Mr.Mancini received his B.S. in Accounting from Ithaca College, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and a Masters in Leadership from Albertus Magnus College.
