The cold winter months have arrived but this time of year also brings with it many indoor activities and initiatives for the Great Neck Community. Creative writing classes begin this month for grades two and three. These classes are held after school and always well-attended. Teddy Bear Olympics will be held on Thursday, January 22 for students in first and second grade and the Student Council is working on this year's school-wide reading challenge. Look for more details in the next few weeks.
Please keep in mind that we do try to get the students outside for recess as long as the temperature and wind chill cooperate. Hats, mittens and coats with working zippers are helpful. There are occasions when it is too cold to play outside for the entire recess period but we get the students out for at least five or ten minutes for some fresh air.
